Fall Out Boy Fallout!

Just a few short years ago, Fall Out Boy were the rock band at a time when people were still saying, "Kings of Leon who?" They became the face of a pop-emo-R&B hybrid sound, went multi-platinum, sold out arenas everywhere, graced the cover of Rolling Stone, spawned promising proteges like Gym Class Heroes and Tiga and even had their own leaked Internet nude pics that further expanded their popularity when bassist Pete Wentz showed off his woo hoo -- and made the outfit one of the only bands on Earth whose main star was the non-singing bassist.
Then Wentz went a step further by marrying Ashlee Simpson and -- yes, I'm about to say it -- their popularity started waning. The Simpson curse? Perhaps, but it was surprising how many people were not affected when the band announced they were going on hiatus in November after releasing their Greatest Hits LP. "I think the world needs a little less Pete Wentz," Wentz conceded, while also admitting the Ashlee Effect was a not-so-slight factor.
On Wednesday, the band's remaining fans' worst fears were confirmed when he blogged again that the band may never get back together because they "grew apart." Lead singer Patrick Stump confessed on his own to Spin.com, "Whether we play again or not, I don't know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don't, it will also be for the right reasons."
